Theater Augusta Raurica
ROCKING IN THE ROMAN THEATRE
The scenic theatre of Augusta Raurica is the best-preserved ancient venue of its kind north of the Alps. For many years, Z7 has been hosting concerts in this stunning historical setting. The performance by the Swiss Pink Floyd tribute band Crazy Diamond was one of the most overwhelming concert experiences of 2014. Since then, artists such as Joss Stone, Wardruna, Skunk Anansie, Nena, Mike & The Mechanics, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, and Beth Hart have performed within these ancient walls. Anyone who has had the chance to experience a concert in this 1,600-seat semicircle is inevitably captivated by its unique atmosphere. When the sun slowly sets on the horizon and a band pours its heart out on the large open-air stage, the mood in this venue becomes almost unbeatable.
In 2026, Z7 will once again present concerts in this beautiful outdoor arena. And once more, top-tier headliners have been secured for “Augusta Raurica – Live in Concert.” The series will kick off with the return of the Swiss Pink Floyd tribute act Crazy Diamond, back at the site of the most monumental performance in their long band history. Finnish cello rockers Apocalyptica will make the venerable stone foundations tremble with their classical instruments and their covers of Metallica hits. And Swiss folk-metal heavyweights Eluveitie will deliver a very special show, creating an unforgettable summer evening in this historic semicircle.
